14 Pounds and Gaining.....

Hi All! I am so sorry I have become such a BAD blogger! Taking care of Spencer, working with clients, planning Tamara's shower and bach, and taking care of myself as much as I can has been a little overwhelming....all wonderful....but overwhelming. Spencer is absolutely a piece of heaven on earth. :-) He just had his 2 month checkup and is thriving at 14 pounds 4 ounces and 24 inches long. Which puts him in the 95% for weight sand 90% for height. He makes all kinds of sounds, loves to talk to us and smiles like CRAZY!!! He is SUCH a happy baby. He is really good at lifting his head and we had a successful shopping trip in the baby bjorn! Here are a few pics...... Click on the photo to see a larger version

Tummy Time!!! "I'm not too thrilled about the pink boppy mom got me on sale at Ross"

I love it! Whenever we kiss his face- or put anything near it- he opens his mouth up like he's going to eat whatever is coming his way!

Sleep? Who needs it!

I will be the 1st to admit I have been a very bad blogger.....but my little 6 week old is probably the best excuse you can have. He is wonderful! Even his fussy cries make me happy, not the ones where his tongue looks like it’s having a seizure, those are the worst! He only cries really bad when he's nursing like (my Dr. have him this nickname) a barracuda....and whenever he does this I can hear his theme song go on in my head..."You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick, Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda!" All is well in Spencer land. When he was born the nurse said he was already smiling....most people dismiss it as gas, but she was convinced and as new parents no one could tell us otherwise. Since he was born he has smiled at random things, with no gas to follow we still believe he really IS smiling! Last week he started to smile at us....and not just for a second (because of some gas) but for 5 minutes, then 10 minutes straight! Shaun can almost get him to laugh, so far he just sort of pants with a huge cheesy grin- life is good. Spence had his 5 week apt last Thursday and he weighed in at 12 1/2 pounds (3 pounds above his birth weight) and 23 1/4 inches (2 1/4 inches longer than at birth). So far he is 95% for weight, 95% for height and 50% for head. McGrath's are always off the charts, so I blame myself for the average head size...lol.

McGrath Farm

Spring has finally arrived….or so the calendar says. We are hoping the frost is done and Shaun can start his garden. I am more excited for this year because not only will we get to enjoy the garden once again, but Spencer will be able to too. AND my wonderful friend Becca (“Whoot! Whoot!) got me a Beaba baby food maker. She knows me very well and figured if anyone in the world was going to make her own baby food, it would be me, and of course Shaun’s organic garden would be the ultimate supplier. In a few months we will be grazing on raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, cherry tomatoes, different varieties of lettuce, spinach, sugar peas, green beans, summer squash, zucchini, artichokes, asparagus, corn and carrots. Oddly we don’t live on a farm, but someday I’m sure. Last summer we got a kiddie pool for my girlfriends daughter Hayden. She loved it. I can’t wait for Spencer to play in it this year. Here are some pics that make me excited to spend the summer in the garden with Spencer.

Good morning, good mooooorning!

Yes, it's morning, 4:25AM to be exact and I'm WIDE-EYED and AWAKE! I just put Spencer down and can hear him doing his normal grunting on the monitor in the bedroom. He does this grunting thing all the time, we have nick named him Billy, since he sounds like a Billy goat. He doesn't seem to be doing it out of pleasure, but more likely because of gas??? It's hard to not laugh at him and whip out the camcorder. He is such a joy, Shaun and I are completely in love.

A quick hello!

I'm sorry it's been so long but I am in a whole new world. It's absolutely incredible! I give Spencer at least 100 kisses a day and the few times I’ve had to leave him I have missed him terribly. I don’t want to leave his sweet little face ever, and I am wondering hoW my friends are going to tolerate me because I’m not sure how I will ever make another wine night without him! :-) Everything has been just great. Shaun is SOOOO involved. Spencer and I are truly blessed. He is the most amazing dad and husband, I never knew life could be so good. Our family and friends have been very helpful too and I want them all to know how appreciative we are of their yummy dinners and time spent hanging around so I could vacuum or take a shower. Here are some pics of our little angel in his 1st weeks of life. Love to you all!!!
