Office no more....

Since our house is only 3 bedrooms, this calls for some...let's say...prioritizing? Ugh. I hate to give it up, but I just can't see how a babies room, or kids room can be shared with an office. Right now my office contains the following: big cluttered unorganized desk, HUGE bookshelf full of craft

-----let me just interrupt....my hubby just brought me a pint of lemon sorbet :-) He is the sweetest hubby ever, but I will add that I bought the sorbet myself last night and when I went to get it tonight he had already finished it. Why is it men always seems to finish the things you wanted most off before you even think about it? Men. Love them. Love him for going to the store at 9:30 just for me ;-)

Anyhoo......HUGE bookshelf full of crafty making things, another bookshelf full of cookbooks, a twin bed decked out in Star Wars bedding (Spencer's future bed/current guest bed), Shaun's closet (full) and a whole lot of other random things that should probably go to Goodwill.

What am I going to do with all this stuff? Shaun says get rid of it, you don't use it anyway. Well, when I have time, again some day, I will need that stuff and I don't want to have to go buy everything again. Poop. He made the mistake of saying, "I use my tool bench in the garage 10 times more than you use your craft stuff", and I said then make room for me in the garage. haha.....sure. I guess it's all going into boxes? Which is fine, I think I will be able to survive, and if I miraculously get more time and energy and inspiration to get crafty again I can get it all out of the attic.

My biggest dilemma is what to do with the desk...which I cannot live without since I primarily work at home. I have an office at my brokerage, but I can't really go there in my pj's ;-). So, my only idea thus far is to convert my beloved armoire in the living room into a little desk/office area. The problem is it has a board down the middle, and I'm not sure I want to butcher my armoire. :( I guess we can work around it? Below are some pics. Not sure how it's going to work out.....I may need to hire a carpenter. hmmmmmmmmmmm...............babies you are always putting me through hoops! But I love you anyway.

Girl! Girl! Girl!

So, I keep thinking girl. I have been more sick this time around and people keep telling me, and if I were one of those people I would be saying the same thing, that it's a girl. I would like to believe them, and myself, as I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to shop in the girl section of....well....just about anything! I just get lost on Etsy. I've even started to plan the nursery. Thankfully what I think I have decided on, thus far, could go either way....sort of. I think this time around I would really like to do wainscotting, or some kind of chair rail. I didn't do it last time, even though well before I was ever pregnant I always felt like that was a given, something you just did for a babies room...any babies room, be it boy or girl. I just didn't do it. I don't know why, it would probably look super cute in Spencer's room even now.

If you followed my blog the last time I was prego you will remember I changed my mind at least 3 times in the design of Spencer's room. I actually started with a high ambition of making everything........I would say that was my "crazy stage". That lasted until January when I wasn't getting anything done and then one magical evening Shaun and I were registering in Pottery Barn Kids (RIP Bellevue PBK, soooooo sad you're gone) and the most fabulous nursery set was on SUPER SALE!! And I mean SUPER DUPER SALE! It was almost 70% off, or more! I thought about how much the rest of the fabric that I needed was going to cost and decided buying this set would save me a bunch of money, and a WHOLE lot of time......because, again....if you know me at all I am a TERRIBLE perfectionist and have a real problem with re-doing and re-doing and re-doing, just about everything.

Anyhoo....I must be in that crazy stage again, or I have gotten the "crib set", "matching this", "matchy that", it's part of the "set" OUT of my system. I think I'm over the "set". I love how Sarah (of Sarah's House on HGTV, if you don't watch YOU MUST!) mixes old with new. So, I am on my way to being crafty again..........it's been a while, I'm really excited, I just wish I KNEW it was a girl. Below are some pics of a nursery that am in love with already. I would definitely do the blue/grey wall with wainscotting or a char rail. I'm not sure about the crib, but I do love the orange/yellow accents................of course, only if it's a girl. ;-)

This nursery was in a contest on http://www.thebump.com/

Spencer playing with a Tree Frog. He was so excited, he kept jumping like he
had the hiccups. He wanted to touch it so bad but was really nervous so he
just held his finger at a safe distance. :-)

Oldie but the best!

I have a WONDERFUL habit of taking pictures....what I'm not so good at is putting them on display. I have quite the collection of frames.....but still in boxes. I can never decide on color...black and white...sepia...enhanced....not enhanced.....should I do a black and white wall? Should I do all color? Do black and whites look good next to the colors? So, needless to say, I never put anything up. Point of the story is I am attempting to order prints to frame and came across this photo and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I just CANNOT beleive my little Mun chi chi (yes, named after the Japanese doll, because he looked just like one when he was born) is ONE! I found this photo and it made me tear up. It goes by so fast. When you have a baby people all around, even strangers, say "It goes by so fast", "Enjoy every minute of it", "He'll be in college before you know it" and it's all sort of transparent and you just shake your head ok. Well, it really does! So, DO cherish every second.

A few pics from Spencer's 1 Year Photo Shoot

Here are some pics from Spencer's 1 Year Photo Shoot. My mom was visiting from Florida and we had Shaun's dad come over extra early so we could get some shots with them. They all turned out great! www.AmyWaltonPhotography.com is my photographer of choice! She is wonderful!

5 Randoms

1. Spencer had his 1 year well-check appointment and passed with flying colors! He is 65% in Weight and 97% in Height.....he's getting pretty lean!

2. Spencer eats a 4oz container of Yami Yogurt for breakfast everyday and 1 Whole Avocado for lunch....sometimes he just wants avocado for dinner too. H

3. I just booked our flights to Utah for a trip over Memorial Day Weekend to visit Shaun's older brother Jesse, wife Michelle, 3 year old daughter Anna and 6 month old daughter Alice. Shaun and his brother are planning on fishing and Michelle and I are planning on sneaking away to the "store" as much as possible to go shopping!!! I love Utah, it's beautiful and I am so excited to see more of it in some nice weather!

4. Last week I booked flights for me and my good friend Carolyn, and Spencer, to Orlando. We are off to spend 9 days with my family! My sister and her husband just bought a new house (with a pool!) and we will stay with them. I am looking forward to the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, showing Carolyn Disney World (she has never been- is it really possible?) and Playing with Spencer at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kigndom and MGM Studios, hopefully he will be walking by then! It's going to be such a nice break and it will be so nice for Spencer to spend time with his Auntie's and Uncle who adore him!!!

5. I think I could survive on Blueberries

3 years ago......

I married my best friend. I can't believe it's only been 3 years, it feels like we should be celebrating our 10 year, or 15 year. Well....in actuality we have been together for almost 10 years.....is that right? Yes, we met July 17th 2000. Geeeesh! Does time fly by! I just want to say I have the most amazing husband in the world. I know everyone says that about their hubby's so I will explain why my husband is so amazing.

Today he helped me clean out the office for my mom's visit next week. He, willingly, took a huge and heavy filing cabinet to my Windermere office by himself while I kept cleaning at home. Along the way he dropped off some paper to my model home/sales office so my business partner would have paper. Then he filled up Spencer's Mickey Mouse balloon(that we have been refilling every other month or so since last November) because Spencer LOVES it!

Shaun wakes up with Spencer every Saturday and Sunday and lets me sleep in, even though he wakes up early for work every day of the week. Whenever I need anything he is always ready to get it for me. Right now he's at the store getting some more bins to pack up the last of my craft stuff so we have room for my mom. Before you start thinking I’m demanding, believe me, I don’t even ask him to do all these things, most of the time he just offers. Sometimes I ask and he doesn’t gripe about it. He's always running errands for me (and Spencer) happily and never complains. He does the dishes every night and pretty much does EVERYTHING that involves the yard and anything to be done outside (which includes the garbage and he hates doing the garbage!). Our yard in the summer is INCREDIBLE thanks to him!!! He works so hard for us to have lots of fruits and vegetables, and lots of flowers for me. Really, he cuts flowers for me all summer long.

He is wonderful with Spencer and truly enjoys spending time with him. I know husbands out there that don't do as much as Shaun and I am so thankful for him. He is such a caring and attentive father and husband, I am truly blessed. Cheers to Shaun, my best friend, my husband and the wonderful father that he is.

Crawler!

Now that Spencer is crawling that's ALL he wants to do! I have the hardest time changing him, I have to dig my elbow into his stomach to keep from diving off his dresser. We went to PF Changs tonight and it was like trying to hold a bucking bronco- ridiculous! I love him soooo much! :-) I hope he starts walking soon so I don't have to keep carrying a lint roller around in the diaper bag- he's become a human swiffer.
